Associate degree students can use this $1,000 grant to pay for school

Even if you’re enrolled with an associate degree you can still get funding

Associate degree scholarships aren’t the most common ones, but if you look hard enough you’ll find some

Offline or online associate degree programs can definitely help save you money, since they cut your learning time in half. Instead of spending four full years in a program, you’ll commit to only two. But even if you can save money with an offline or online associate degree, doesn’t mean they are inexpensive or that you don’t have to pay at all.

Students attending an offline or online school should know that scholarships are the answer to financial woes. And even if your traditional or online school of choice doesn’t offer funding or has run out of scholarships, you should know there are plenty of associate degree scholarships that may help you cover the cost of tuition and related expenses.

Unlike loans, scholarships and grants are both forms of financial aid which you don’t have to pay back upon graduation. They are most often available directly for tuition, but some also help cover some additional costs. And as you probably know by now, scholarships are awarded based on merit, but also based on other things such as talent in a certain field or a well-written essay.

Or maybe you are part of a certain class of individuals – for example people who have an affiliation with a certain company or those who are part of the military. If that’s the case, you might be able to find funding with organizations seeking to support these individuals.

For example, if you are part of the Marine Corps or are a veteran and you want to pursue an associate degree online, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation can help you secure funding to pay for your education.

On top of that you need to have a minimum GPA of 2.0, as well as a family adjusted gross income for the 2016 tax year that does not exceed $96,000.

Note that applicants pursuing a full undergraduate degree, second bachelor degree or graduate school are not eligible to apply for this funding.

Another scholarship for associate degree students is the one offered by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society to its struggling financial members who are seeking to enter an associate degree program.

Take note that only Phi Theta Kappa members in good standing are eligible to apply for this one. On top of that you need to demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Oberndorf Lifeline to Completion Scholarship is open for students who have encountered an unanticipated financial barrier on their road to gain a degree such as loss, natural disaster or complete loss of income.

Students can earn up to $1,000 if they are chosen by the Phi Theta Kappa committee. The scholarship is open twice a year with a Spring term and Fall term. At this moment you can submit your application. The scholarship program is accepting submissions until December 1, 2017.

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is home to other scholarship programs for Associate students and we recommend you browse through them all to see if there are others you could apply to.

Minority online students can take advantage of this $5,000 grant

Just because you study online, doesn’t mean you can’t get money for college

Online students actively seeking funding for their online degrees, can apply to the program offered by Guides to Online Schools

Saving money for college can be an incredibly hard task, but high tuition rates shouldn’t keep students from enrolling with a program at their offline or online universities. While financial concerns might put you off from chasing your dream at first, you should start considering grants for school as an alternative method to pay for college.

Surely, we’d all sleep better at night if we had a million dollars in our bank account and we’d be able to use some of that money to pay for the tuition which comes from applying to traditional or online universities. But we live in the real world and in the real world not many students can go to university without applying to grants for school.

Online students might have smaller fees to worry about compared to their traditional counterparts, but that doesn’t mean making the payment won’t put a big whole in their budget. That’s why applying for scholarships should be turned in one of your main priority after you have been accepted into an online university program.

And we have some good news for you – as an online student you are part of a group of students who attends classes in the virtual environment. Hence there are some scholarship opportunities that are specifically designed for students who are in the process of completing their educational online.

For example, Guide to Online School is home to two scholarship opportunities. The Community College scholarship targets students enrolled in a public community college, junior college, technical college or city college and who are currently working towards getting a diploma or degree.

The grant is worth $2,000 and will be awarded to a student who can best respond two personaland thought provoking questions in 300 to 500 words.

  1. How will you apply your degree in the future? What do you anticipate for your first five years outside of college?
  2. State any special personal or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance.

You have until October 15 to apply for this scholarship.

The second scholarship awarded by Guide to Online Schools is one aimed at Minority students. You’ll have to be enrolled in a private or public school and working towards graduating with a diploma. On top of that you have to be part of one of these ethnic groups: Alaska Native, American Indian, Asian-American, Black (African-American), Hispanic American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.

This time Guide to Online Schools will award a more generous $5,000 scholarship, but students also have to answer the same two questions we listed above in order to be eligible to receive the money.

You have until December 31, 2017 to apply for this grant, so if you too are part of a minority don’t hesitate to apply for this scholarship.

Guide to Online Schools previously offered may other scholarships including the Make a Difference Scholarship which asked students to explain how they would change the world and the Military Scholarships.

The NCAA awards a $7,500 scholarship for student athletes

Student athletes can get funding for school from the NCAA

The NCAA is the place to go looking for college funding if you’re a minority or female college student pursuing intercollegiate athletics

Traditional and online universities are getting more expensive, as each year passes and the economy falters. So even if the work force is in need of more and more specialists, less students are willing to undertakethe financial trial of paying for a college education online or offline. And who can blame them?

Online universities have changed a game a little bit. They allow working students or people who can’t dedicate themselves completely to studying to earn an education – and despite making it more affordable than their traditional counterparts, college education online is still pretty expensive.

That’s why most students have visited the financial aid office at their school at least once. But sometimes your university runs out of funds or its criteria is too strict. So what do you do then? You look for funding somewhere else.

How do you go about that? There are several ways to search for scholarships, but the easiest route is to think about what defines you as a student? Are you an athlete? Or maybe a poet? Or maybe you are very good at shooting video?

Use your special skill to look for scholarship providers who want to reward you for your talents. Take for example the National Collegiate Athletic Association. As the name indicates, the association wants to help athletes get a higher education on the cheap and offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities to that end.

Here we’re going to talk about the Ethnic Minority and Women’s Enhancement Scholarships which is aimed at minority and female students who are planning to attend a sports administration program, while planning a career in intercollegiate athletics such as athletic administration, coaching or training.

In order to apply you will must enroll in an NCAA member institution on a full time basis and be at least in your final season of NCAA athletics eligibility.

We should also note this is a scholarship for students seeking to enroll in postgraduate studies or graduate level studies, so if you’re currently enrolled with a bachelor degree you won’t be eligible to apply just yet. As soon as you complete your degree, you will be able to apply for a grant with the NCAA provided the other requirements are also fulfilled.

Furthermore, you need to have a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, including all undergraduate hours earned at any undergraduate institutions you have attended up until now.

On top of that the NCAA also notes that candidates must be outstanding citizens and excellent role models hoping to become a part of intercollegiate athletics.

If you think you fit the criteria you can go ahead and apply for the scholarship. Remember that you have to be part of an ethnic minority (like African American or Native Americans) or a female student in order to apply for the grant worth up to $7,500. A total of 26 grants will be awarded in total. You have until February 15, 2018 to apply for this scholarships and we wish you good luck.
